Aviation Ordnanceman (AW/SW)
Larry Rabalais retired after
20 years of naval service,
departing Makin Island (LHD
8) as a plankowner. It was
the first retirement
ceremony held on board the
ship. Rabalais' family
members were in attendance
as well as a number of
friends and shipmates.
Following the ceremony,
Makin Island's Chief's Mess
bid farewell to one of their
own as he was piped ashore.
